Inherited power is not earned leadership. Charisma is not competence. A famous last name should not be a shortcut to City Hall.
Dabawenyos have the right to ask tough questions of those who govern in their name. If Mayor Baste Duterte cannot assert leadership or demonstrate results, then perhaps it's time we stop giving him the benefit of the doubt simply because of who his father is.
